Our life lately has revolved around the renovations that have been going on for weeks because it just won't stop raining! I don't have any idea how long it will take to finish, but it's already looking so much better. We had rotten wood on the front porch replaced (one of the columns was resting on rotted beams!) and lots of scraping in preparation for painting. Primer is starting to go up. The carpenter is building the guardrail at the side of the front porch by using the existing rails on the balconies as a model, just making it higher. I've been talking to the ladies at Historic Tyler and will be starting the process for getting some historic markers for the house.
